Well I thought I'd post a compliation of some of my favourite music [cut into three parts for ease of downloading]in zip files here and here and here

Babble
I limited myself to one song per artist/anime, however if any of you want more songs I can give hints of where to get them. Also I limited it to the stuff that always makes me go squeee-must-listen-to-and-possibly-replay when on, as if I included everything I liked this list would be a couple of gig - so I've limited it to 25 songs:>

--- Start part A
Song listing and reasons for inclusion
Fun, weird songs aka songs I included because they make me giggle
01. Cows with guns by Dana Lyons. Who doesn't like songs about cows... with guns?
02. March of the Sinister Ducks by the Sinister Ducks. I like ducks, I like funny songs, therefore the two together = song I like.
03. Dragostea Din Tei aka the "Numa Numa" song by O-zone. Enough said. (Note: this is a funky remix.)

Oldies but goodies aka songs I try to sing along to
04. I'm Gonna Be(500 miles) by The Proclaimers. After seeing a very well done Anime Music Video this song makes me think of Ryoga from Ranma 1/2.
05. My Boyfriend's back by The Angels. I first stumbled across the lyrics in fanfic, then heard the song and really liked it.
06. Never Ending Story by Limahl. From the second movie, brings back childhood memories because I always liked this song.

Songs I got from other people on Livejournal
* from [livejournal.com profile] lisaroquin
07. Kiss me I'm shitfaced by the Dropkick Murphys. I remember having this song playing in another room while having friends over, and during the opening chords they perked up and said "Is this the Dropkick Murphys?" How can you not like a band that gets a response like that?
08. Red Neck Woman by Gretchen Wilson. Yes, it is country, I also like it because it's about accepting who you are.
--- End part A, start Part B

09. Mordred's Lullaby by Heather Dale. A very haunting song.
* from a fan-made soundtack
10. Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. This is the only song by them I have, and I like it both for the music and because it really resonates with the character it was associated with, in this case Kuroba Kaito/Kaitou KID from Magic Kaito/Dectective Conan.

* from a post of halloween songs
11. When you're evil by Voltaire. Cool lyrics and good music.
12. Skullcrusher mountain by Jonathon Coulton. THE mad scientist song.
13. Hell by the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Another song with funky lyrics and beat.
14. Ode from a Psychopath by Blodwyn. Another song that makes me think of a character. The first time I listened to it I thought "thats Muraki from Yami no Matsuri".

Anime Songs for-series-that-I-have-watched(at least some of)
15. Inner Universe by Yoko Kanno. The opening track of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex this has a great melody and cool lyrics in Russian, English and Latin. I like it so much it's the default ring on my phone.
16. Hemisphere by Maaya Sakamoto. The opening track of RahXephon. I like all of her stuff about equally, but this is a pretty track.
--- End part B, start Part C
17. Wind by Akeboshi. The ending track for the first season of Naruto. This track has haunted me since I first heard it for some reason.
18. Kujibiki Unbalance by Under17. This is the opening song for Kujibiki Unbalance the anime that was orginally created for the characters of Genshiken to otakn over, and has since got it's own series. Very cute song.
19. Shining Collectionby Iceman. From Gravitation this is the ultimate peppy, pick me up song.
20. Stray by Steve Conte. Opening track to Wolf's Rain, another haunting song.

Video Games
21. The Chase of the Highway by Nobuo Uematsu. Okay, okay, technically this comes from Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children, but close enough. I like this track cause it's fast and funky and has the Turk's theme in it.
22. Simple and Clean by Utada Hikaru. English theme song of Kingdom Hearts I love her music, the game and this song.

Artists aka why-I-can-tolerate-MySpace(sometimes)-but-Vampirefreaks.com-is-better)
23. Shalott by Emilie Autumn. While I discovered her thru [livejournal.com profile] soranokumo, she goes here because I had to get all her albums after listening to some more tracks on MySpace. I like all her stuff, but this song is one of the more universal ones.
24. Winterborn by The Cruxshadows. The author John Ringo kept making references to this band in his books, so I Myspace'd them, heard some songs and liked them. This track was choosen as it was the one referenced in the books first.

My song
25. Who I Am by Jessica Andrews. Also found via fanfic. After listening to this song I feel in a lot of ways it describes me at this stage in my life.
--- End Part C

Hope you enjoy!
